I think everyone but wolfwood is the original cast.  And I'd like to see the dubbed version as well.

Actually, only Johnny Yong Bosch is reprising his role. The rest have been recast.

Mostly because they didn't feel like flying everyone out to the studio to dub this thing. While most of it was pretty forgivable (Milly and Meryl are really small parts in it) the recasting of Wolfwood is the one that people are mad about. And really, it's his own fault, because the studio made him and offer and he tried to negotiate for more money. So they decided to go elsewhere.

Funi does have a bit of a reputation for "messing with a good thing" in certain anime (Last Exile being a perfect example of said "dub tinkering"), at least in terms of dubbing. But they know better than to mess with the stuff people remember and like the most, for the most part.

They kept Johnny as Vash for the same reason they kept Blum as Mugen in Samurai Champloo: $$$

These aren't even close to the same thing. Funi never redubbed Champloo with other voice actors. It's just the same show with its license rescued from the pit of despair that is Geneon USA.

Trigun: Badlands Rumble, on the other hand, is a BRAND NEW product with new animation. It HAD to be recast, because some of those voice actors are too tough to get or not in the business anymore.

Sorry, but that's just what happens when a property gets new animation after 5 years or more. It happened numerous times with FMA:B, and now it's happened with Trigun.
