Sure thing... i'll try to remember and post the new ones each week.

For ep 5 "Hard Puncher" :
The longer one holds onto a memory, the longer one lives in the past. The deeper the memory they hold on to, the more beautiful the past will become. The beautiful memories will eventually turn into hate. Even if they look ahead, they lose the ability to walk. As long as the heavy chain called Revenge continues to bind the heart, the tears of sadness will continue to flow.

I remember in one of the old Trigun threads we posted all of the episode previews. This page holds all of them although I've found a few mistakes.

The original day I said I was taking it didn't work so I was using it with the crack and finally took it in on Tuesday afternoon after watching episodes 3 and 4 and posting my thoughts. Also I've never seen Trigun before so I have no memory. :smileywink: I'm on the craptastic family comp right now but have to get off and now to go to work....and then no more comp till tomorrow unless I sneak on in the dead of the night.

Ahhh, that's right. You're one of our newcomers. ^_^ I think you've said it enough times that I should have remembed by now. -_-

So...you watched episodes 3 and 4 on your laptop, even though it still had the crack?

I'd better get in my thoughts on 3 and 4 before people start moving onto the new stuff. I don't want to wind up shoving 5 and 6 in the same post as them, for various reasons...

I love the interplay between Frank and Vash in episode 3, particularly right before the climactic scene of the episode. Vash finally shows a tiny bit of an introspective side in this one. "The situation is not equal"...and so he is the one who must move to equalize it. Even Frank finally realized that standing by and doing nothing won't get you very far. It's amusing how a town with such a lackadaisical mayor winds up packing enough heat to impress an NRA convention; then again, that's exactly why he could afford to be so casual about crime. As much as Meryl may try to deny it, maybe there is something a bit special about this Vash...

(Fun fact: when I was first watching the series, my freshman-year roommate and a few of his friends happened to be in the room at the time of this episode. They were greatly amused by Frank and Vash's antics, and even more so by the fact that Frank was sipping on some Wild Turkey, their drink of choice. :smileyvery-happy:)

Episode 4 provides yet another example of how Vash minds to land himself in the worst possible situations, completely oblivious the whole way through. And yet he somehow manages to exhibit a great deal of skill, as he shows off in the bar fight. (Along with certain...other...tendencies. I adore that inchworm crawl.) And speaking of skill...how about that Meryl, eh? Even Milly got some go-time. It always impressed me how Vash forced Stephanie to confront her father's dark past. We got a bit of a glimpse at another side of Vash in this one; even with his gun in the outlaw's face, he wasn't about to pull the trigger.

(LOVE AND PEACE!!!)

I definitely enjoyed these episodes more than the first two when I first watched the series, but I still wasn't completely sold on it at this point. Vash showed some complexity and seriousness, but he was still essentially a giant goofball. I'd still yet to see anything that truly wowed me. You'll have to wait and see exactly when that changed...

:smileyhappy: Ok, since I had a half-day at work today, I watched #5 & 6 this afternoon. I gotta say,

the show's growing on me. The kind of humor that I don't care for personally that was

featured so prominently in the first two episodes seems to have subsided (or maybe I've

just become acclimatized to it... :smileyindifferent: ).

If you haven't seen this week's episodes, SPOILERS FOLLOW.

Then, as I should have known it would, the other shoe dropped. The show introduced what

has got to be the most unspeakably trite cliche next to "Aliens From Outer Space". Vash

has amnesia. Oh... dear... gawd. :smileyvery-happy:

Ok, ok, not a huge, fat, hairy deal, but mildly disappointing at the very least. I was extremely

gratified that Meryl finally got it through her head that Vash was indeed Vash. I was just a

little worried that they were going to keep that shtick going through the whole 26 episodes.

And I'm finding it hard to be upset about the amnesia cliche while getting so much of the truly

wonderful awesomeness that is Milly. Ah, Milly. 72 inches of prime, Grade-A Woman, and

packing one scary-ass non-lethal weapon.

Speaking of Milly, if anyone knows of any galleries that have art of Milly, I'd love it if a link

could be provided. If it's only screen-shots, then don't worry about it, as I'm making all of them

that I want as I watch. For instance:

Milly trying to keep Meryl from having a conniption

Naive Milly looking hawt

Milly looking adorable

ZOMG- Milly is so hawt!

Preview quotes at the end of eps 5 and 6

for Lost July:
The tragedy endlessly repeated in order to fulfill desires. The lust for conquest making people bend to your will, a thrill intense enough to make you shudder. There is a man who is a slave to that ecstasy, the leader of the Bad Lads, a man who shines: Brilliant Dynamites Neon. The sand steamer will shake the moment the huge dynamos on each of his shoulders start to spark. In the pitch black darkness, the gruesome party begins.

for B.D.N:
People who sin say this, that they had to, to survive. People who sin say this, that it's too late now to stop. The shadow called Sin dogs them steadily from behind, silently, without a word. Remorse and Agony are repeated, only to end up at Despair in the end. But the sinners just don't know, that if they'd only turn around, there is a light there, a light which keeps shining on them ever so warmly. A light that will never fade.

So eps 5 and 6 I actually had time to watch yay! :smileyhappy:

Well it's always fun to see hard puncher again.  I remember that being a favorite of mine because it's the first moment you see the real Vash the Stampede in all his glory.  Not the goofy Vash.  And did anyone else find it kind of ironic that everyone blames Vash for damages everywhere, but this town was causing more destruction just trying to chase Vash :smileyvery-happy:  And ep 6, for some reason I always wanna hit Elizabeth for calling Vash "Spot".  But I guess he did follow her around for most of the ep like her little puppy.  But boy did it get serious in the end when we find out about July and Vash's lack of memory of it all and poor chibi Elizabeth losing everything.

Oh and I always remember the awesome quotes in this one:

"I'm like a hunter of peace.  One who chases the elusive mayfly of love....or something like that."

"Why am i crying in french?" (and every thing that comes before which i was too lazy to rewind to try to get the whole thing :smileyvery-happy:)

"Who may I ask is that?  A total babe."

"I don't like sleeping with men especially ugly ones."

And of course  "This land is made of love and peace! "

A few weeks back, when the first two episodes were opened up for discussion, I mentioned that there was one single moment that sold me on the series and turned me into an instant and complete fan.

Well, that moment was Hard Puncher.

As soon as Vash was accosted by the women inside the saloon, I realized that this was something different than what we'd seen before. This wasn't a situation that could be resolved with some goofy gimmick. This was something deeper. And as everything afterwards unfolded in sequence, I just sat there, spellbound. The way that Vash stood amongst the ruins of the bar in all his glory. Meryl's slow, begrudging, yet finally conclusive acceptance that this man was in fact Vash the Stampede. The way that Vash gently picked up and moved the unconscious bodies of those women, ignoring Professor Nebraska's taunts all the way. The way he managed to make dodging that first shot look absolutely effortless. His donning of those sunglasses, the first time we'd seen him do so since the very start of the first episode. His horror when he realized Nebraska's true target. That absolutely beautiful bullet-time scene, which I'm all but certain inspired the Wachowski brothers down the line. How casually Vash sent that final bullet speeding to its target. And the crowd's reaction to it all. One long, amazing sequence of events. And in the end, I was left with no doubts. This is what I had expected out of the series. This was the true Vash the Stampede. This was the Humanoid Typhoon. Right then and there, I fell for the series, head-over-heels, and I've never looked back since.

So...yeah. Overdramatic as it probably sounds, that's the effect this episode had on me. It's always an immense pleasure for me to rewatch it. I'll hopefully get the chance to catch episode 6 at some point tomorrow.

(LOVE AND PEACE!!!)

HUZZAH! :smileyvery-happy:

And I think you're only a couple episodes behind! You'll be current with the rest of the thread very soon. ^_^

@Top_Gun: Eloquently put. :smileywink: When I first watched Trigun from beginning to end, I already knew there was more to Vash than met the eye, and so, yeah, it was great moment in Hard Puncher when Vash finally revealed just how much of a badass he truly was. :smileyhappy: In a way, it sounds like your shocking realization at Vash's true nature almost mirrored Meryl's own.

“Oh, it’s you…. It’s been a long time. How have you been? I’ve been really busy being dead. You know…after you murdered me? Okay look, we both said a lot of things that you are going to regret. But I think we should put our differences behind us. For science. You monster.”
