Jackson Publick Updates His Livejournal - VB

That's right. More pics too. It looks like a young Molotov. I'm also seeing some dead crazy people (maybe this is who Hank channels :smileywink: ). And a tentative release date. And pictures! More pictures of Prof. Impossibles office, ariel view of the Venture Compound and the interior of a bathysphere.  :smileyvery-happy:

...We even got wind of our tentative premiere date today: June 11, 2006, in the coveted 11:30pm Sunday night slot. This is only terrifying because the aforementioned premiere episode, produced seventh, is scheduled to be delivered to the network a mere week before that...so good God, I hope nothing goes wrong with that one. The first season DVD, consequently, is supposed to be released some time in May. And I guess I can tell you who's doing some of the packaging art now...it's Bill Sienkiewicz. And if you're a closet geek fanboy product of the comics of the 80's and 90's like me...well, you can imagine how much that excites me.

And guess who the artist for the DVD is going to be.....

C'mon, guess....

I was just pondering the other day what the VB DVD box might look like, for the heckuvit. Guess it's safe to say it'll be *Hank-ish voice* 'super-cool neato!'

I love the images he's giving us.  I like the cerberus in the first one...I love the mythology/folklore references, like chupacabras and the krampus.  Looks like there might be more to come.

Now, I hate to be a wet blanket, but remember, that date is tentative. It sounds like even the smallest of issues could delay it. I'm terribly excited, but I'm not putting too much trust in. I'd rather be surprised by things running ok, than disappointed by delays.

But I tell you.... how lucky are we as fans to have such information shared with us. Publick doesn't have to do this, but he does.

I am soooo having a party on premiere night! And if it does premiere in June, I'll still have time to knock out a costume based on a season 2 character.

Where on Earth are all the villians? I don't see The Monarch or Baron Undherbheit. So the guy that looks like Brock on the end, looks slightly different than Brock. (Skin, tone, height, hair, etc.) Do you think that's because it's showing he's younger there or because it's his dad...? They did show Dr. Venture's dad, I think it's only fair if we find out about Brock's past too.

I'm excited for the new season. I do wish they had postponed it a week for my birthday though.  How sweet would that be to get new Venture Brothers episodes on your birthday? Best present ever. (Though it'd be horrible to make everybody wait since we all need the show now.)

And yay for the May DVD release! I've been waiting for this DVD for months. And I'm excited that they've  got Bill Sienkiewicz doing the cover art!

Underbheit will definitely have a sizable role in the next season. Jackson hasn't talked much about the Monarch which worries me. The tenative premiere date is on Nais' birthday! (He's a ASMBer and PRoVinite) It's his birthday present, not yours! :smileytongue: j/k

Well, the snake guy looks villainous, as does the guy with the bloody apron. But her posted a lot of Underland characters last time. Personally, I'm just glad to see more images of Dr. Venture. :smileyhappy:

...But the biggest news is that we received the first take of the animation for the first episode from Korea today! It looks great--the overseas studio picked up right where they left off with the last few episodes of the first season and the Christmas special. The new background and character styles blend nicely and won't be the least bit jarring or incongruous to the long-time viewer. So we're on our way--if all goes according to schedule we'll be getting a show back every two weeks from here on in.

I'm glad to see there will be a smooth transition. Publick has been talking about all the changes, and it did make me wonder how much of a difference there would be.

I'm getting all excited now. It is like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. :smileyhappy:

Awesome.  Obviously that date could change a hundred times between now and June, but it's nice to have a tentative date.

Trust me. I'm keeping the tentative nature of that date in mind. And it does sound like Publick is working himself to the bone. One little thing, like a flu, could really delay stuff. So fingers crossed and knock on wood. :smileyhappy:

Another update in Publick Nuisance. J.G. Thrilwell will be performing publicly.

"J.G.Thirlwell will make a rare NYC appearance, DJ-ing at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square, New York City on
Sunday January 15 from 5.30 to 8pm, for the grand opening celebration of the Cherry Vintage Rock Boutique in the Megastore.
JGT's set will be broadcast throughout the store so if you are in the neighborhood check it out!"

He also talks about listening to the music track for VB. It sounds like season 2 is going to kick ass.
