Not neccessarily.

It's always possible that they just didn't throw them in there. It seemed like they only put the most big-name AS shows in there-- sort of just a reassurance that those big ones are coming back. Just because nothing was said about the others doesn't mean that they're gone. Loren hasn't mentioned that the Lucy pilot's off. Last word from him was that they're still doing it and still working on it. We know Drinky's gone, Maakies and Tony Millionaire confirmed that. Superjail! and Xavier are the only ones that we need a word on still. I still have hope that there'll be word on 'em outside of the Upfront.

And, also, they could've not mentioned them because they just haven't greenlit 'em yet, and could be in the process of getting the green light and working with the studios.

I don't think the lack of a mention for those shows, despite what the video opens up with, neccessarily means cancellations.

I know, it ** Yo Jo e! ** to have shows you like get cancelled. But just remember, they'll always live on in our hearts, and in our DVDs.

I think I'm going to stick with the idea that just because they weren't mentioned doesn't mean they're gone. Let's keep waiting for straight yeses or nos.

I dunno, 55. [AS] has already pulled the plugs on great ideas before they got a chance at a healthier run and a more devoted fanbase way before this year's upfront.

Well, yes, that seems to be the case with Drinky Crow. Maybe Xavier and Lucy as well, if they are actually cancelled, but I have my hopes and my doubts.

Superjail!, though, has a pretty devoted fanbase from what I can tell. It had it's chance and it did well. Really well. That's why it would surprise me if it got cancelled. The other shows have/had potential, but Superjail! had straight success. It did seem like it was too expensive either, like Korgoth was.

This is true, but I think what we need to do is just hope. And wait. I really think that despite Xavier's, Lucy's, and Superjail!'s omissions in the presentation video, this isn't a final word on those shows. 

If Superjail! was gone, I think that the Augenblick website would be updated with a newspost about it being canceled. And as of right now, there's no such post. So I think there's still a great chance Superjail! is still happening.

If Lucy was gone, I think Loren would tell us in the thread on the LDOTD fansite thread he posts in about the show, and he hasn't yet. So I don't think that's gone yet either.

If Xavier was gone, uh. I dunno. The PFFR website confuses the hell out of me and they haven't signed into their MySpace since last summer, so... I guess we'd get an official word on the boards or something.

I don't think these shows are gone, I think we just need to wait. Once we get final word on them, and it's bad news, then we can weep (and I will do quite my fair share of weeping). But now? It's waiting game time.

I think they just want to be sure that they get back the money they spend on shows. Drinky wasn't an "instant hit," but it costed them a lot, so it got cancelled.

I'm not saying I'm supporting it, but at least I can understand it.

I have to stress the point I've seen/read a lot before, though, that success shouldn't be measured primarily by ratings. If there's anything FG has taught us, it's that DVD sales can pay off.

yeah, maybe if they pull a fox on us (sell dvd's and see that it has good sales) they'll renew the show again.

But seriously, i think this is what they were going to do to VB after the first season and they just had so many fans complain that they gave it another shot and it became what it is today.

Exactly. Like Drinky Crow and Superjail!, Venture Brothers wasnt an instant fan favorite during it's first season and its very expensive. However, [AS] still stuck with it out of care for good cartoons and it became the success we see today.

I feel like I didn't learn anything from seeing the renewed shows.  I mean, I thought it was obvious that Metalocalypse, Venture Bros, etc. were staying around.  The big three that I was hoping to hear about either way were Lucy, Drinky Crow, and Superjail! (Superjail especially.)

We didn't really learn anything from that, most of it was things we knew, if not all.

But just wait for now. Lucy's new pilot is still being worked on, Superjail! might and probably will still return-- the show just takes a lot of work, and might not return 'till 2010-- and we know Drinky's gone. The Upfront seemed more like an excuse for a party for the advertisers and industry people with a few already-common-knowledge and new show announcements sprinkled in in a 2-minute video. They'll most likely give more news in the future. Hopefully the near future.

i hope this is the case...hopefully they are just still working on deals fro Superjail and Xavier (and couldn't get them done in time for the upfront)
