There are three great powers currently controlling the Makai: Yomi, Mukuro, and Raizen. Raizen is dying because he refuses to eat humans. With his death approaching, he would like someone to rule in his place. But Yomi and Mukuro would also like to become the sole leader. Yuusuke eventually proposes that they hold a tournament to decide who becomes the ruler of the Makai.

That's the short of it. I don't want to spoil too many details, especially who wins the tournament...

Mmm... not sure what you mean. Wait, I think I might know what you mean. Do you listen to anime soundtracks regularly? The Yuu Yuu Hakusho soundtracks, for the most part, are all image songs - those are songs sung specifically by the characters from the show. (Just explaining in case you don't know.) The soundtracks also include the opening/ending themes. That's all that is included on most of the soundtracks... they're a lot of fun to listen to.

There are few soundtracks that are all background music from the show itself, or instrumental versions of image songs/themes played by an orchestra. Ooh, forgot about the dance mix soundtrack too. A lot of them also include mini-dramas, which are just weird little fantasy dialogues between the characters.

The only special one is the Super Covers soundtrack. The opening/ending themes are all covered by the voice actors for the main characters, who all happen to be J-pop stars. They sing in their normal voices, rather than in character.

Remember how Rikku01 thought he was an expert on YYH on here? He thought Yuusuke won the tournament too, and the real answer was posted directly above him in the thread. XD I'll never forget that... I laughed so hard.

a couple months ago, someone came here saying he knew everythign about

'Yu Yu Haksuho'. when so i asked him ' in Yuu Yuu Hakusho, who wins the Makai tournament?' first he thought i spelt Yuu yuu Hakusho wrong, they he wouldnt answer the question. when he did he got it wrong.

and im happy that that person left, for he was a fool

The Japanese ones are pretty vague. Except for the good old first one, "I'm Dead! What a Surprise"... I didn't like how the English one got watered down. It looks like they forgot their! exclamation point. Sorry, I'm rambling again.

I am just now begining to listen to the actual soundtracks. Most of my anime music collection is the opening and closing songs, so I did not, in fact, know what image songs were. I had, erroneously it appears, assumed that the soundtracks were similar to those of movies, consisting only of songs from the movie/show. When I was looking at your list, I saw that most of the songs were sung by the voice actors and got really confused. I was sitting here thinking...wait, I don't remember any singing in this show...

On a completely unrelated YYH note, why is it that Adult Swim Cannot show Unedited Episodes.

I watched some of the Dark Tournament on Adult Swim (When that Saga was on) and it was pretty good. Reciently, I got the first Dark Tournament Boxed Set, Uncut. It was alot better. ALOT better.

Adult swi, is supposed to be for shows that cannot be shown on Daytime Television, so why can't they show uncut episodes?

They actually do not play completely uncut episodes. I've seen some weird editing done with other shows. I'm not real sure how they would handle YYH though... However, I would lay money on a bet that they would edit out the scene with Miyuki where he feels him up.

I didn't know that... the only action shows I ever watched on [as] were occasional episodes of Bebop and Trigun.

I know that was edited on Toonami... but that episode was originally aired back when YYH was on [as], wasn't it? Someone who used to watch it would have to verify that.
