If time doesnt exist

as we think of it, but as a fourth dimension. (which I still dont completely underwstand) when it is proved that time doesn't exist, that we experience physical variables we percieve as time. Will no one believe in God or stuff any more?

I've always wondered with how far we've come in understanding the universe around us(still not a lot) that it's crazy people still take literal meanings from stuff like the bible.

Wait for aliens to arrive everywhere. That will make organized religion go up in flames.

Why watch it on TV for free when you can pay for it?

Dimensions are essentially just coordinate systems. In a 2D Universe, you only need two sets of coordinates to uniquely identify a point. On a piece of paper, you could uniquely identify a point using just width and height. On a globe, representing a 3D Universe, you need three sets of coordinates to uniquely identify a point. Both width and height, but also depth. Our Universe is most likely 4 dimensional. There are the 3 spatial coordinates, but also a time coordinate necessary to uniquely identify a point. For example, I could give you the address of my building, the floor I am on, and the time at which I can be met. Those 4 coordinates represent 4 dimensional spacetime.

Now that might sound like just a meaningless analogy, but the implication that time and space are treated the same is what's important. Both time and space make up the geometry of the Universe. You can measure a distance along the spacelike axis using the same units as you can distance along the timelike axis. What makes this possible is the Universal constant c. A lightyear, for instance, is a measure of both time and distance.

The relationship between the spatial and temporal dimensions is very similar to the Pythagorean theorem, which shows the relationship between connected line segments in a right triangle. In special relativity, and as verified by countless experiments, an object, when measured from its own reference frame (a reference frame is a frame of reference in which an object is considered at rest in relation to everything else), is in motion, not through the spacelike dimensions, but through the timelike dimension. The velocity of a spatially at rest object along the timelike axis is c. That is, even when you are not moving in any of the 3 spatial dimensions, you are moving through time at the speed of light. This is the maximum possible speed of anything. When that object accelerates along one of the 3 spatial dimensions, its velocity through time slows down. If a reference frame could be constructed for a photon travelling at c, its timelike motion would be contracted to 0. This is time dilation. The faster an object moves through space, the slower it moves through time. The other relationship is called length contraction. The axis of motion becomes contracted as velocity along that line increases. So the photon not only experiences 0 time, but also 0 distance. If you could construct an experiment where a photon measures its elapsed time and distance traveled, both would read 0 from its frame of reference regardless of how long the experiment took and how far the photon travelled from an outside observer's frame of reference. Space and time are interrelated the same way that the square of a right triangle's hypotenuse is equal in length to the sum of the square of the other two sides. But in special relativity, we measure velocities instead of lengths, and the sum of all velocities is always exactly c.

tl;dr time is part of the geometry of the Universe.

the Core Idea of what a god is almost by definition
Means it's impossible to disprove.

I think eventually religion will fade away but people believing that there is a "god"
just as a being that started the universe and nothing more will never really disappear

then i think the majority of people will follow suit.
But there's always going to be that group that will outright deny it.

We have people like that today we can PROVE that the earth is millions of years old
yet we still have people who will blatantly disregard that and say the earth is only 2000 some years old.

The big bang theory is regarded as a proven theory by many scientists.

And in one of Stephen Hawkings books,

he theorizes there was enough energy and violence in the early universe

that no god was neccessary to create it.

In an unrelated matter,
How come this board has not yet been overthrown by religious trolls screaming at us at the top of their font sizes that god exists?
